ParentLine (Dorset NHS)

ParentLine is confidential text messaging service providing parents and carers of 5–19 year olds in Dorset a way to seek advice from our school nursing team about their child’s health and development via text message.

Parents and carers can advice about a range of issues, including toileting, sleep, development, behaviour, healthy eating, mental health, bullying, school refusal and exam stress.

Parents carers can seek advice via the 5-19 ParentLine service from 9am -4pm, Monday to Friday (excluding weekends, bank holidays and school holidays), with a member of the school nursing team responding to messages within one working day.

Text 07312 263131 for confidential advice and support from a member of the school nursing team.

ParentLine is not an emergency service, for urgent medical attention contact your GP, 111 or 999.

Dorset Special Educational Needs and Disability,  Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS)

We are a free, impartial and confidential service that provides information, advice and support to:

  • children and young people aged from 0 to 25 with special educational needs and/or disability (SEND)
  • parents and carers of children and young people with SEND.

We also work with:

  • the local council in Dorset
  • education and training providers
  • the voluntary sector
  • other agencies

We aim for parents and carers, children and young people to play an informed part in:

  • planning provision
  • agreeing outcomes to meet SEND

What support we can provide:

SENDIASS officers are trained in Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND).
