Admissions Statement
This section provides information on our admissions process at Harbour School Dorset.
Harbour School Dorset welcomes individuals from Year 5 to Year 13 with Autism (ASC) and Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) who hold an Education, Health and Care plan (EHCP).
To get a better understanding of the facilities we have on offer at Harbour School Dorset, we would invite you to watch our Virtual Tour. This was filmed, edited and narrated by some of our students.
If you would like to obtain more information or you would like to see the facilities we have in person, please contact the office via email to enquire about our group tours. Please note: these tours run fortnightly and are space limited to parent/carers only so you will only be able to book onto one if you meet certain criteria.
In line with our admissions policy, if you would like your child to come to Harbour School Dorset you will have to contact your SEN Provision Lead or Case Officer in the first instance to discuss the next steps.
Following this, if the Local Authority agree to consult with us, we will review the consultation and share a response directly with the Local Authority advising if we can or cannot meet the student’s needs. All decisions to admissions are then made in conjunction with the Dorset Special Schools Admissions Panel.
All correspondence with regards to admissions are made directly between Harbour School Dorset and the Local Authority. We are, unfortunately, unable to provide parents/carers any updates to admissions during the consultation process, therefore please direct requests for updates or further information to your SEN Provision Lead or Case Officer.
